All arts are seeing out of frame of rigid boudries to open up a new possibility of perceptions.This requires a compessionate viewing of subjects and objects free from rigidness of subjectivity and objectivity which are the ways of seeing holistic REALITY in broken fragmented manner and only allows a partial viewing.Art and introspection through art leads us towards Wisdom

I like what you have said and the manner in which you describe the path through art to wisdom.

My view is that in contrast to the letting go of rigidness, art uses the rigid understanding of our surroundings and our symbols (icons) to shake our view. Perhaps the 'shaking' is in many cases not very compassionate. Innovation and change are not always compassionate, and art thrives on these transitional creatures.

To gain wisdom, one must view the world from many perspectives. Art should facilitate that discussion, and often does so with a shake, giving us that broken, fragmented manner you have suggested.

Wisdom is a violent thing to the senses of those who surround it. (Just made that up, but it sounds right)

To me the icons and the culture(s) that surrounds us influence an artist regardless. They contain the rigid elements in our lives that we never part with. Wisdom comes from the peace we find in acceptance of these rigid things. Wisdom isn't a teaching, it isn't in preaching or saying to the world look at this fresh perspective. Wisdom is a bending, a learning, a coping with the world, set before us.

It is said many times that it is difficult to design something simple. To do so you need to cut through the walls that defeat you, you need to remove the junk that tries to distract you. Artists very often bring in the junk and point out the walls and say they have found something new. Instead of junk they call it The Beast of Odd Waste. Instead of a wall they call it an Alien Energy Field (in other words, an artist will call something in the world a new name, referring that to be a new perspective) To me, that means they have pointed out a trend, or they have developed a fad.

I think of wisdom as simplicity.

The wise are finished with giving. I should say pro-actively giving. They are finished with screaming and pouting and teaching all of the evils and spoils of the world. They are no longer interested in leading, organizing or running about. They are the ones willing to learn. To absorb. Not for the purpose of being lazy, but for the purpose of being happy.

I like what you have described as the compassionate viewing of subjects and objects, this is ever more important for an artist to try. But wisdom is a different animal, not meat to be touted by art. As I think about it more and more, I think a person might embrace the rigidness of the world about them and within them, to walk toward wisdom.
