i would cut short the question in mind ....rather i always wanted to go outside the question and express my opinion on this ..
for u were talking about art in architecture .(well im wrong here ....."ART"..!?? i shouldnt be telling that ) rather painting and architecture ...............i think the possibilities are limitless ....its not just the mere product which have to settle together for a financial symbiosis.
the possibilities .....u could identify the process which create both .....and there lies the LIMITLESS possibility..if i had time i could add
to limit it to the financial potential of a MERE painting over a MERE wall ....
that wouldn't be taking painting nor architecture forward .........

and i sure see the reasons..n the the possibilities .......
take any art movement ...or any significant change in art ..have always resulted from this cross media interaction ....starting from bahaus..

Coming years will see bridging of architecture with other visual forms of art ...
To find solutions and answers we seek as designers......everything from a question of identity , cultural continuity or contextual expression , exploring and understanding contemporary tendencies .. it becomes inevitable we stay connected with other forms of art .........

i guess i ended up vage ... id post this anyway ..back to my report
hope ur good . take care. have a good day

well .. i guess that might be for very informal profile...........haha
so artists really have to project themselves as very serious ppl ?? ehh i wonder
but i guess it wont change much after two months ...

about me selling art and more about the architecture - art thing ...
well let me take a few moments while i work on my thesis report ...
i may just have another elaborate answer ..and a few questions as well

warm helloz from here ....

and Thanks for leaving a comment or as u put it a "question for me " on my page... :)
firstly i should confess i am ..a final year student of architecture ....well ...two months away from getting my hands on the degree (i should admit u put me in a felling of momentary guilt with the architect tag there .haha)

...i do have professional experience from three architectural firms for substantial periods till now ...and i guess i that should put me in a position to answer ur query (..and some excuse to pick the lines in profile ..he he)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
before i bore u ...

1) Yes ...People are interested in buying artwork while they come to us for design .........i would say a trend which is on the rise ...." helps the market "
{everything from design of residences to corporate offices ....clients have come to us asking to select art work for their designs....(corporate offices having an inclination towards photography and graphic art ) }

.......n of course there are clients who have better appreciation for art ...collectors or artists themselves ....who even go to extend of saying to alter our design to to suit their elaborate collection of display ......

invariably the architect does play the role of art promoter there .......
if u were looking at it from a financial point of view ..i would say thats something artists could work on ..... a symbiosis could help .....

_______________________________________________________________

2) architects do handle the interior design .. u would know that interior design is just a component of architectural design ...be in academics or in a professional office ....
the amount of work and detailing goes into projects means .....u have
specialization ..... mm ..specialists working the different parts of the job
